UKG Mix for Bubble

Boring Backstory
I loved Jungle in my teens but by time I was old enough to sneak into clubs in the late 90s, it had morphed into a dark Techstep DnB sound. The moodiness of it was addictive but 2-step became a necessary guilty pleasure. Personally I needed melodies, percussive rhythms and some unapologetically cheesy vocals in my world too. Much like all in life, it’s about the balance of dark and light, serious and fun ☯️

Identical thing happened during the Dubstep years a decade later. I was drawn to UK Funky and the UKG revival for the same reasons.

So this is UKG round three for me - not being as involved in underground scenes anymore has been creatively liberating. I frequently pick tunes I may have been ostracised for playing back in the serious DJ days. Actually, who am I kidding, I often dropped corny jams alongside the heads stuff😂 This mix is a tribute to the cheesy breezy classics, the yang to the yin of bass music.
